Dr. Aaron Wallender is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and the only fellowship-trained pediatric craniofacial surgeon serving West Florida and South Alabama. With a strong commitment to excellence and compassion, Dr. Wallender specializes in treating children with craniofacial anomalies, cleft lip and palate, and skull deformities, providing life-changing surgical care for patients across the Gulf Coast region.
Dr. Wallender currently serves as the Medical Director and Craniofacial Surgeon for the Gulf Coast Cleft and Craniofacial Team, where he leads a multidisciplinary effort to deliver coordinated, high-quality care for children with complex facial and skull conditions.
Dr. Wallender’s extensive training, both surgical and medical, equips him with a unique skill set that bridges dentistry, medicine, and pediatric reconstructive surgery.
In addition to serving families in the U.S., Dr. Wallender is passionate about global health and has participated in numerous international surgical missions. He has provided free cleft lip and craniofacial surgeries to underserved children in Vietnam, Honduras, Guatemala, and the Philippines, restoring function and confidence to patients worldwide.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Wallender is deeply committed to civic and faith-based service through his local church. He also values time spent with his wife and two children, and enjoys exploring the outdoors whenever possible.

Jaw surgery - Dr. Wallender did my jaw surgery i was nervous but most importantly he prayed for me before performing it and it put me at ease knowing God is in control. Best Maxilofacial Surgeon - My son is a cleft lip and palate patient, he’s been through 6 surgeries total. I had postpone this orthognathic surgery 3 times with UF in Florida and decided to look for another doctor. I’m glad I found Dr. Wallender he’s jaw alignment was on point, he is super detailed oriented and truly cares about his patients. He took the time to explain and answer all my questions but most importantly before the surgery put me at ease when praying for my son and asking God to utilize him as an instrument. This is by far the best surgeon my son has had, if you’re looking for any maxilofacial procedure I highly recommend him.
